TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Erick Thohir officially inaugurated four high ranking officials in the Ministry of State Owned Enterprises building on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. He emphasized that there are three things that the first echelon officials must uphold in carrying out their duties, namely: morals, loyalty, especially to the nation, and teamwork.
“As a public official, morals are the first, because individuals with good morals means they have high integrity and strong commitment in carrying out their duties," Erick said through a written statement, on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.
The four high-ranking officials recently inaugurated by Erick are, Susyanto, appointed as Secretary of the Ministry of State Owned Enterprises, Carlo Brix Tewu, appointed as Deputy for Law and Legislation, Nawal Nely, appointed as Deputy for Finance and Risk Management, and lastly, Loto Srinaita Ginting, appointed as Expert Staff in Finance and SME Development.
Continuing on, Erick explained that teamwork is paramount in working as an official in the Ministry of State Owned Enterprises, as it is one of the keys to managing 142 SOEs, with a total asset valued at Rp 8,200 trillion. As a result, Erick believes that the management of the SOEs can not be carried out individually without coordination.
“Intelligence alone is not enough, let alone being conceited. We need people who can work in teams," Erick claimed.
Erick went on to say that the appointment of the four new officials had gone through an open selection mechanism that had a number of technical requirements and competencies, as regulated by the provisions set by the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Pan- RB) and competency standards expected by the Ministry of State Owned Enterprises.
Erick Thohir further advised the newly inaugurated officials to be a catalyst in the Ministry’s bureaucratic transformation, geared to manage each SOE more professionally and transparently.
The inauguration was attended by Deputy Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin and Kartika Wiratmodjo, as well as a number of other SOE Directors.
