Jokowi Welcomes Singapore President in Bogor

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi welcomes Singapore President Halimah Yacob's first state visit to Indonesia at the Bogor Presidential Palace, today, Feb. 4. She is scheduled to be in Indonesia until February 6.
Halimah is also planned to meet with Vice President Ma'ruf Amin at the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, today.
"Tomorrow, I will visit Yogyakarta, I will meet Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, Governor of Yogyakarta. I will also visit the famous Gadjah Mada University, President Joko Widodo's alma mater campus, which has several ongoing partnerships with universities in Singapore," Halimah said at the Bogor Palace, West Java on Tuesday, 4 February 2020.
President Halimah will also visit the Singapore International Foundation project on occupational therapy for children with special needs. Besides, she will see the industry 4.0 training program that held under a memorandum of understanding between the Singapore Polytechnic and the Indonesian Ministry of Industry.
In the meeting with President Jokowi, Indonesia and Singapore also signed some agreements, including the agreement on avoidance of double taxation (P3B) or effective tax treaty this year.
With this tax treaty agreement, the two countries have agreed on a tax reduction for several financial transactions. Investors who put their money in one of the countries can enjoy income tax exemption.
