Jokowi, National Figures Mourn Passing of Gus Solah

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has visited the late Salahuddin Wahid or also known Gus Solah’s residence to pay the last respect. Other national figures are also seen in the mourning house located in Mampang, South Jakarta.
The younger brother of the late president Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020, at the age of 77.
The President donning a white shirt and a kopiah skullcap arrived at the residence of the caretaker of Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School at 7:32 a.m.
Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, State Secretariat Minister Pratikno, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Presidential Special Staffer Aminuddin Ma’ruf, and Public Works and Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono have earlier presented.
Religious Affairs Deputy Minister Zainut Tauhid, deputy speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly Hidayat Nur Wahid, the PKS faction head and the grand imam of Istiqlal Grand Mosque Nasaruddin Umar also presented to pay their last respect.
Reports said that Gus Solah will be laid to rest at the funeral complex of Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School in Jombang, East Java.
