TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Batik Air plane carrying 245 Indonesian citizens from Wuhan, China landed at Hang Nadim Airport, Batam, Sunday, February 2, 2020. A number of officers dressed in complete yellow and white were immediately alerted around the aircraft.
As soon as the plane landed and the garbarata was lowered, health officers in yellow uniform entered the plane. They stopped at the front door of the plane for a few minutes, and followed by officers in white uniforms.
According to quarantine rules, all passengers from Wuhan must go through a health check on the Batik Air plane before moving to another plane that will take them to Natuna.
Head of Batam Class I Port Health Office Achmad Farchanny previously stated that there were a number of health tests carried out on the plane, including body temperature check.
Along with the landing of Batik Air at the Batam Airport, three TNI aircraft were on standby to bring all Indonesian citizens from Wuhan to Natuna. The aircraft prepared by the Indonesian Air Force are Hercules A-1315 and two Boeing AI 7304 and A 7306, respectively.
Head of Batam's Ops Lanud Hang Nadim, Major Lek Wardoyo, said the Hercules plane was maximized to carry 130 people while Boeing had a capacity of 100 each.
Before picking up the Indonesian citizens in China, Batik Air made a number of preparations. This preparation is very important because the citizens are at the center of the spread of the corona virus, which was in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China.
As is known, Wuhan is the center of the corona virus outbreak that has killed 259 people, 11,821 cases, with 1,347 of them are new corona virus cases.
Batik Air's Corporate Communications Strategic, Danang Mandala Prihantoro, explained that the flight to Wuhan was a humanitarian mission. The type of aircraft that departs for China is Airbus 330-300 CEO (18 business class and 374 economy class) with PK-LDY Batik Air registration in the "humanitarian mission."
