Jokowi to Inaugurate Yogyakarta Underpass Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi will inaugurate the Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) underpass today, Friday, January 31, 2020. The length of the Yogyakarta underpass is 1.4 kilometers, which is said to be the longest in Indonesia.
The president and his entourage took off from Halim Perdanakusuma air force base, Jakarta, using the Indonesia-1 Presidential Aircraft on Thursday at 05:00 p.m. Right after their arrival at Adisucipto air force base in Sleman, Widodo headed to Gedung Agung, Yogyakarta Presidential Palace.
He will also hand over the land certificates for the people at Taman Budaya Building, Kulon Progo, before the inauguration ceremony.
In the visit, the president was accompanied by the Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Wishnutama Kusubandio, and Head of Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono.
The Military Secretary to the President, Maj. Gen. Suharyanto, Commander of the Paspampres, Maj. Gen. Maruli Simanjuntak, Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media, Secretariat of President Bey Machmudin, and Special Staff to President Ayu Kartika Dewi also participate in this event.
Later in the afternoon, Jokowi will head to YIA to start observing the airport facilities before taking off to Jakarta.
