TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President-director of the State-owned electricity firm PLN, Zulkifli Zaini, said that the company is set to initiate “major efficiencies” to further save corporate operational costs.
In a meeting with the House of Representatives (DPR) on Tuesday, Zaini said that PLN will avoid wasting unnecessary costs in conducting its tasks and said he had focused his efforts on financial control since his assignment as PLN president.
“I have advised fellow coworkers to maintain financial performance and also maintain the commendable financial ratio,” said the PLN president who highly views the firm’s balance sheet.
He also maintains that no company could carry out a mandate without good finances and a healthy cash flow, “Which is why directors and commissioners will attempt to improve PLN’s balance sheet and maintain healthy cash flow.”
Zaini also made it clear that he would lead PLN’s aim to overcome reoccurring problems of the past and those often complained by its customers, such as overcoming the problem of power outages and aim to introduce electricity tariffs that are attainable by the majority of the public.
