TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Intra Urban Toll Road regulatory agency announced the inner-city toll tariff adjustment in early February, but only after the plan is dissected and introduced properly to toll road users.
The Indonesian Tollroad Authority (BPJT) Chairman Danang Parikesit said that this decision has been approved by the Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Minister in the PUPR ministry’s decree No.1231/KPTS/M/2019.
“The [tariff adjustment] will be applied once the condition settles and at a time when people will accept it. Our initial goal was to adjust it last year but ended up being delayed to February,” said Danang at the Tanjung Priok access toll road on Monday, January 27.
CMNP Director Djoko Sapto added that the inner-city tariff adjustment will be adjusted to the 6.86 percent inflation. This will effectively increase the tariff of Category I vehicles to Rp10,000 from the previous Rp9,500.
However, Category III, IV, and V vehicles will drop from Rp20,000 to Rp17,000 following a category simplification. Prior to 2018, inner-city toll road tariffs were distinguished into 5 categories but were simplified to only 3 categories since 2018.
