Angela Tanoesoedibjo: ASEAN Tourism Forum 2022 Will be in Indones

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Angela Tanoesoedibjo, has stated that Indonesia will be the host for the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2022. Prior to that, Indonesia will be a Co-Chair in ATF 2021, that will be held in Cambodia.
"We will prepare ourselves accordingly for the two events," said Angela Tanoesoedibjo in the ASEAN Tourism Ministers Meeting at The Empire Hotel Brunei Darussalam on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. As part of the preparation, the Indonesian Government will draft a long-term plan geared to readying Indonesia as host for ATF 2022.
Furthermore, as according to Angela Tanoesoedibjo, coordination between the ministries, institutions and local governments will also be carried out in preparation for ATF 2022. "We will coordinate with the relevant parties to determine the location of the event," said Angela.
The ASEAN Tourism Ministers Meeting was held as part of the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2020 that ran from Sunday to Friday, January 12 to 17, 2020. Aside from the ASEAN tourism ministers, there were also a number of foreign tourism ministers from China, Japan, South Korea and India.
Angela Tanoesoedibjo said that the ASEAN Tourism Ministers Meeting discussed on several issues, including achievements in 2019 and a collective plan for 2020. In the future, according to her, relevant stakeholders will apply the seven pillars of ASEAN as a single tourism destination.
The seven pillars would refer to the intensifying of promotion and marketing, diversifying tourism products, attracting tourism investment, raising the capacity and capability of human capital, implementing and expanding ASEAN tourism standards for facilities, implementing and expanding connectivity and destination infrastructure, and lastly, enhancing travel facilitation.
