TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The flooding that hit Jakarta early this year has damaged several roads in the city.
Jakarta's Bina Marga Department immediately responded to the matter by forming a special task force to repair the damaged roads. The head of Bina Marga Jakarta, Hari Nugroho, said about 173 points of the road in the capital were damaged due to the flood.
"[The damaged roads are] mostly located in Central Jakarta with 63 points and 50 points in North Jakarta," he said on Thursday, January 16, 2020.
The process of road repair is being conducted by Bina Marga, said Hari.
He also stated that until today, Bina Marga officers are conducting a patrol to search for other possible damaged roads. “The task force is still searching for damaged roads every day," Hari said.
Jakarta flooding has now entered the rehabilitation phase where 819 personnel of Bina Marga were deployed to handle the post-flood rehabilitation.
According to Hari, the New Year flood had left the city with waste that should be immediately cleaned. It also damaged the roads and sidewalks.
