TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The mass that are pros and cons with Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan will hold their act in front of City Hall today. Their protest will highlight the matter of flood handling in early 2020.
Chairperson of Bang Japar community, Fahira Idris, said that his party would come to the Jakarta City Hall to provide support for Anies and the Provincial Government to continue to focus on handling floods. "We support the governor to continue flood mitigation programs," he said yesterday.
Fahira said that the protest was a citizen's right and guaranteed by law. He considered that there are some people who made the Jakarta flood a political commodity to erode Anies Baswedan's image without wanting to see clear facts. "Regarding floods, we have to understand the causes of Jakarta floods," he said.
To guard the action at the City Hall, the Central Jakarta Metro Police prepared 300 personnel.
"We will prepare the security," said Central Jakarta Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Police Heru Novianto, when contacted.
Heru said there would be no special security given for the action which attended by those communities.
