  • TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Department of Transportation of the City of Tangerang closes Jalan Daan Mogot temporarily due to a subsidence as deep as 2.5 meters, just below a pedestrian bridge (JPO) in Tangerang.

The exact location of the subsidence is in front of the Tanah Tinggi Inpres Elementary School, on the route of Jakarta-Tangerang.

The head of Department of Transportation Wahyudi Iskandar stated that they had already secured the area. Traffic engineering was done in terms for road repairs by the ministry of Public House and Public Housing (PUPR).

"The department has been conducting the management and traffic engineering," Wahyudi said on Monday 13th of January 2020.

Due to road repairs in the subsidence location, the Department of Transportation in Tangerang has deployed two group forces of 50 members.

"They patrol by day and night [divided into two] in some areas of the road affected by the traffic engineering," Wahyudi remarked.

Tangerang Mayor Arief R Wismansyah conveyed that the road that connects the Province of Banten and Jakarta is experiencing a subsidence with a 2.5 meters depth and more than 2 meters width.

Seeing this condition, Arief has ordered the department of PUPR of Tangerang to immediately coordinate with the Ministry of PUPR to immediately repair the main road.
