TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry's (ESDM) Chief of Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas), Fanshurullah Asa, stated that single price fuel distribution in 2020 will be targeted towards 83 regions. The two companies set to do the distribution are PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT AKR Corporindo Tbk.
“So, we hope Pertamina and AKR can distribute on time,” said Fanshurullah in a press conference at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, January 9, 2020.
The 83 locations are dispersed in a number of areas; more specifically, 10 locations in Sumatra, 15 in Borneo, 10 in Celebes, 17 in West and East Nusa Tenggara, as well as in 31 locations across Maluku and Papua, amongst others.
Until the end of 2019, BPH Migas, in tandem with other businesses, has distributed one-price fuel in 170 locations. “We could have finished it earlier, which would have been October 2019,” claimed Fanshurullah.
More specifically, the 170 locations would account for 31 locations in Sumatra, 42 in Borneo, 3 in Java and Madura, 25 in East and West Nusa Tenggara, and 50 locations in Maluku and Papua. With plans set for a yearly distribution, BPH Migas is expecting to have distributed to 500 locations by 2024.
According to Fanshurullah, the single price fuel distribution has managed to lower the fuel prices in a number of regions. One example of this is in Puncak Regency, Papua, wherein an original fuel price of Rp 100 thousand per liter has decreased to become Rp 6.450 and Rp 5,150 for premium and solar, respectively.
