KPK Seals Off Member of KPU Wahyu Setiawan's Office

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) sealed off General Election Commission (KPU) Commissioner, Wahyu Setiawan, on Thursday, January 9th 2020. “Yes, that’s true,” said KPU Commissioner, Ilham Saputra, when contacted, today.
The sealing of Wahyu’s office was done after KPK’s sting operation arrested the KPU Commissioner, on Wednesday, January 8th 2020. Aside from Wahyu, KPK arrested three other individuals with initials of HM, D, and S.
Vice Chief of KPK, Nurul Ghufron, confirmed that Wahyu was arrested, along with the three aforementioned individuals. “WS as the receiver of money, through D and S,” said Ghufron, on Wednesday, January 8th 2020. “The money is around Rp 400 million.”
A source has stated that HM is suspected to be Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP)’s legislative candidate, Harun Masiku. Harun is PDIP’s prospective legislative member in the People's Representative Council.
His candidacy originated from South Sumatra I constituency, serial number 6. This constituency includes Palembang City, Musi Banyuasin, Banyuasin, Musi Rawas, Musi Rawas Utara, and Lubuklinggau City. However, he was not successful in the 2019 legislative elections.
Wahyu Setiawan was arrested as he was about to board a flight to Belitung. Currently, all four individuals are being investigated further by the KPK.
