TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) has announced on its official page that it provides free documents or archives restoration services for victims of Jakarta flooding.
“One of the impacts of flood disaster is damaged or wet family archives. ANRI responds to this situation by opening the Family Archive Restoration Service Post at ANRI Building,” as quoted from its statement.
People who need the service are welcomed to visit the ANRI building on Jalan Ampera Raya No. 7 Cilandak, South Jakarta during office hours. The building’s operational hour starts from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
As for the procedure, people are only required to bring their original documents that were damaged, instead of the copy. The documents include academic certificates, birth certificates, family cards, marriage books, ID cards, land certificates, and others.
ANRI further announced that wet documents caused by the flooding are not suggested to be dried by hanging it under the sun as such an attempt might damage the paper’s structure.
