Flooding; Transjakarta Halts Operation at Several Lines

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta is hit by flood on New Year’s Day following a high intensity of rain since the evening of December 31, 2019. As a result, the Transjakarta bus operation is halted at several lines since water inundated several roads and cannot be passed. In addition, several bus-stops also turn into evacuation shelters for people affected by the flood.
"Jembatan Baru Stop has been temporarily turned into shelter location for people affected by the flood," said the Jakarta transportation company’s official, Nadia Diposanjoyo, in a written statement on Wednesday, January 1, 2020.
Nadia said that her management lets several stops to be used as shelters for flood victim but with coordination with local officials and bus-stop officers.
The Transjakarta bus-stops that temporarily halt its operation are route 8K of Tanah Abang - Batu Sari and route 6N of Ragunan – Blok M.
