TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police and the city’s transportation agency dropped the odd-even policy starting today afternoon, December 31, 2019, until January 1, 2020. The traffic system is removed temporarily following the new year's eve celebration in several city areas.
“The traffic system still takes effect on Tuesday, December 31 from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m., but it will not be from 4 p.m.-9 p.m.,” said the traffic police law enforcement head Comr. Fahri Siregar to Tempo on Tuesday morning, December 31.
Fahri explained during the new year’s eve, the car-free night event will be held along Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin, which are usually affected by the traffic engineering.
The police have set four parking spaces, such as at IRTI parking lot, Gambir Station, Monas area, and southwest areas of the Horse Statue or Patung Kuda.
“The road closure and traffic engineering for the car-free night will kick off from 3 p.m. until 12 p.m.,” Fahri said.
