Draft on Personal Data Security Completed, Says Govt

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) Minister Johnny G. Plate announced that the Draft Bill (RUU) on personal data protection has been completed and is set to be handed to the House of Representatives (DPR). 

“The draft on the Law on personal data protection has been completed, we only need to wait for the presidential mandate to be sent to the DPR,” said the minister on Monday.

Apart from the aforementioned draft bill, he also said that the House have their hands busy with a number of important draft bills, including the Omnibus Law that oversees job opportunities and codifications from 74 Laws.

The Kominfo Minister assured that the draft bill will be included in the national legislation program (Prolegnas) of 2020.

As of data protections, Minister Johnny there are three important aspects regarding personal data; data sovereignty, security, and confidentiality protected.
