TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Having the main profession as a Youtuber in today’s digital age is starting to be a norm as the potential financial income from creating Youtube content continues to slowly allure some young generations from chasing the dream of being a doctor or teacher.
The following are considered as Indonesia’s 10 highest-paid YouTubers according to Socialblade, which mainly consists of individual content creators and not corporations or TV stations. It also excludes their income from endorsers or other means of a partnership between Youtube and companies.
- Zuni and Family
Zuni and Family made internet fame despite not coming from a line of celebrities. This channel has attracted up to 3.96 million subscribers with estimated annual earnings of US$ 13.8 million (roughly Rp193.2 billion).
- DeHakims
This is the account managed by presenter Irfan Hakim that highlights his daily life with his family, along with keeping up with several reptilian pets. This Youtube account is followed by 3.05 followers and has estimated annual earnings of US$3.5 million.
- Rans Entertainment
The account, run by celebrity couple Raffi Ahmad and Nagita Slavina, is arguably one of the wealthiest YouTubers out there. They both took the Youtube content creating serious a couple of years back, despite establishing an account in 2015. They are subscribed by 11.6 million and is estimated to earn up to USD6 million this year.
- Baim Paula
This account is managed by celebrity couple; Baim Wong and Paula Verhoeven, which is where their account name comes from. Their channel is subscribed by 8.84 million and is estimated to earn up to USD5.1 million annually from content monetization alone.
- Gen Halilintar
The Gen Halilintar family is also one of Indonesia’s most popular Youtubers following a series of prank videos and humor content. This channel is managed by 11 family members who are also known for their own channels such as Atta Halilintar, Sohwa, and Saaih. They have more than 12.9 million subscribers and is estimated to make USD4.5 million annually.
- Praya Brother
The daily activities of Praya and his younger sibling managed to attract 1.45 million subscribers and estimated annual earnings up to USD4.2 million (Rp58.8 billion).
- Ria Ricis
This female Youtuber who started with squishy video contents once attracted attention after announcing her retirement from Youtube, to only return just a few days after. She now has up to 18 million subscribers and estimated annual earnings up to USD3.4 million.
- Arif Muhammad
This youtube persona is known for the character he created known as Mak Beti which has attracted up to 7.83 million subscribers and estimated to annually earn up to USD3.3 million.
- Atta Halilintar
Other than the family’s Gen Halilintar, Atta Halilintar is also one of this year’s ten most wealthy YouTubers with 20.4 million subscribers and an estimated annual earning up to USD3.2 million (Rp44,8 billion).
- Deddy Corbuzier
Deddy Corbuzier started to seriously create Youtube contents with interviews involving known public figures such as Jakarta’s Governor Anies Baswedan up to Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi. Deddy’s Youtube channel is subscribed by 6.82 million with an estimated earning up to USD3.1 million.
