TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Attorney General ST Burhanuddin announced that ten suspects of insurance firm Jiwasraya graft case are banned from traveling overseas. He said the policy has been released on Thursday, December 26.
“We have requested a travel ban for ten suspects, and it has been valid since tonight,” said Burhanuddin before reporters at his office, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta, Friday, December 27.
The ten suspects are identified as AR, DYA, HP, NZ, DW, GL, GR, HD, BT, and HS. Yet, Burhanuddin stopped short of detailing their backgrounds.
The Attorney Generals Office (AGO) was set to summon the ten people for questioning on Monday, December 30, as well as all 24 people involved in the case in January 2020. “We will call in them on January 6, 7, and 8,” Burhanuddin added.
The corruption case in the state-run insurance company was brought up following public complaints. Jakarta Attorney Generals Office suspected the alleged crime was committed from 2014 to 2018.
Grafts in the finance and investment management of Jiwasraya up to August 2019 potentially caused state losses up to Rp13.7 trillion.
