Jokowi Orders Omnibus Law Draft on Job to be Published

TEMPO.CO, Bogor - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has instructed the publication of the draft of omnibus law on employment as a part of the government’s transparency.
“Before the draft is submitted to the DPR (House of Representatives), Coordinating Minister, Legal and Human Rights Minister, State Secretary Minister are instructed to expose it to the public,” said the President during a limited meeting at Bogor Presidential Palace, Friday, December 27.
He asserted the importance of accommodating and minding suggestions from all public elements. “This is a transparency that we want,” the President added.
The former Jakarta governor also ordered Attorney General, National Police, and National Intelligence Agency (BIN) to analyze the impacts on the omnibus law.
“We do not want it generates problems so please communicate and consult the drafts with all related stakeholders,” Widodo underlined.
The draft of omnibus law on employment, he went on, will stipulate 11 different issues that involved 30 ministries and institutions. “I expect its great vision and in detailed, clear framework to be maintained so that the policy is synchronized and integrated,” Jokowi said.
