TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Wishnutama held a meeting with Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investments Luhut Pandjaitan in preparation for the Dutch royal family’s visit to Danau Toba (Lake Toba) in the near future.
“Today I reported the preparation of the Toba Lake to Minister Luhut, considering the tourist spot will be visited by the Dutch royal family. We will prepare [the location] for their visit,” said Wishnutama at the Maritime Affairs and Investments Coordinating Ministry headquarters on Monday, December 23.
However, the minister did not reveal further details as in when the Dutch royals would arrive in Indonesia. Wishnutama only assured that Lake Toba’s infrastructures would be more than prepared to host the state guest visit.
Lake Toba had been chosen as one of five national destinations by the government considered as ‘super-priority tourist sites’ as it is hoped to become a magnet for international tourists and further contribute to the country’s income in the future.
The high-priority nature of Lake Toba has pushed the government to highly improve the area’s facilities and infrastructures.
