Anies Baswedan to Visit Cathedral during Christmas Eve Mass

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan reportedly will attend the Christmas mass at Cathedral Church, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday night, December 24, 2019. The church's spokesman Susyana Suwadie confirmed that Anies will arrive at 09:30 p.m.
"I have received information that the governor and FKUB entourage [Inter-Religious Harmony Forum] and staffers will come on December 24 evening," Susyana told Tempo via a phone call on Friday, December 20, 2019.
The Cathedral Church will hold Christmas mass three times in December 24 at 04:30 p.m., 07:30 p.m., and 10:00 p.m. While on December 25, the mass will be held at 06:00 a.m., 09:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 05:00 p.m.
Tempo observed on Friday, December 20, 2019, that officers were still decorating the church. Susyana said that the decorating committee was formed two months ago, and the installation is expected to be ready on December 23, 2019, before the mass.
Anies Baswedan has regularly visited churches during Christmas Eve since he took office as the city governor in 2017. Last year, Anies visited five churches, namely Cathedral church, Santo Andreas Kim Taegon church, Mawar Sharon church, Paulus church, and GPIB Church.
