New Year's Eve: Puncak Traffic Re-routed

TEMPO.CO, Bogor - Bogor Resort Police will be closing road access heading to the Puncak route during the upcoming new year's eve. The road closure will be conducted in relation to the car-free night policy planned to be applied in the area.
"We will hold a car-free night in Puncak route and close the road for 12 hours. So four-wheeled vehicles are restricted from heading to Puncak," said Bogor Police Chief Sr. Comr. M Joni on Friday, December 20, 2019.
Joni said that the road closure will start from 06:00 p.m. on December 31, 2019, until 06:00 a.m. on January 1, 2020. According to Joni, the policy, which is applied annually, is intended to prevent traffic congestion.
"We will maintain the security and smooth traffic flow in the area to avoid severe traffic jam ahead of Christmas and new year," Joni added.
Bogor police, he added, will impose various traffic redirection during the closure. However, people will not be banned from celebrating new year's eve in the area.
Bogor Traffic Police Chief Adj. Comr. M Fadli Amri said that his officers have disseminated information concerning the car-free night policy to the public.
Fadli explained that section of roads that will be closed includes these 6 areas: Interchange Post of Ciawi toll road, or also known as outpost 1B heading towards Gadog intersection; the Patung Ayam gas station heading to Ciawi, RM Cimory, Ussu gas station, Taman Safari Intersection, and Gunung Mas area.
