  • TEMPO.CO, JakartaEntrepreneur and former vice-presidential candidate Sandiaga Uno asked entrepreneurs to constantly innovate in 2020 to maintain and further develop the country’s economy.

“I am convinced that with our abilities to take opportunities amidst consolidation and be innovative, we will be able to drive our economy, especially at the grassroots level in terms of work opportunities,” said Sandiaga in a written statement on Tuesday, December 17.

He also predicts that the economic growth in 2020 will show a positive trend despite many economy experts have been more than realistic and predicting growth that would not exceed 5 percent.

Sandiaga Uno pressed that in order to face challenges of a possible recession, each and every business people must have the ability to monetize every opportunity that might arise. As an entrepreneur himself, Sandiaga Uno says his business has faced a national recession once in 1998 but was able to take the available opportunities at the time.

In a  separate occasion, Bank Indonesia stated that the monetary and macroprudential regulations will remain accommodative to boost the domestic economic growth and anticipate the threat of a recession, although Indonesia’s economy is currently relatively maintained.
