TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Muslim Advocates Association reported Permadi Arya, or better known as Abu Janda, to the police's Criminal Investigation division on Tuesday, December 10, 2019. Abu Janda was reported for alleged blasphemy.
"Because Abu Janda said in social media that 'terrorists have a religion and their religion is Islam'," the Association's secretary general Djuju Purwatoro said in a written statement, Wednesday, December 11, 2019.
Djuju said this is not Abu Janda's first hatespeech against Islam.
He also said that the police often ignored similar reports. This time, he hopes the law enforcement would follow up on his report.
"Interrogate and arrest Abu Janda to create a deterrent effect and end the public unrest over blasphemy against religion and Muslims," he said.
