TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned electricity firm PLN independent commissioner Sumiyati confirmed that the general meeting of shareholders (RUPS) will be held on Friday, December 13.
“We are just asked to be ready. No official invitation is sent yet,” said Sumiyati, who is also the inspector general of the Finance Ministry, in Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, December 11.
However, she balked at explaining whether there would be a discussion about the corporate’s new directors in the upcoming meeting.
Recently, two names are widely mentioned to serve as the firm’s new directors, namely Rudiantara as managing director and Darmawan Prasodjo as deputy managing director.
Rudiantara is a former minister of communication and information, while Darmawan is Moeldoko's former subordinate in the Presidential Staff Office. News about the new board of directors was previously leaked by Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Pandjaitan.
Even so, Sumiyati admitted that she had not received the information, and there had been no discussion about Rudiantara and Darmawan. "We don't hear about it, we know it from the news," she added.
Sumiyati mentioned that the meeting was usually held at SOEs Ministry building and attended by shareholders, commissioners, and directors only.
SOEs deputy minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin was also tight-lipped when asked about rumors in light of Rudiantara and Darmawan as PLN's new directors. "Just wait, be patient," he said shortly on Tuesday, December 10.
