TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The head of Jakarta Budgetary Board, Prasetio Edi Marsudi, suggested that the budget of Anies Baswedan's team for accelerated development or TGUPP comes from the governor's operational funds.
“If TGUPP still remains established, it is allowed to use the governor's operational funds,” said Prasetio during a budget board meeting on Monday, December 9.
Prasetio, who is also the city legislative council (DPRD) speaker, made the statement in response to the high budget for TGUPP proposed in the 2020 Regional Budget Plan at Rp19.8 billion. He demanded explanations from the city administration in light of the budget allocation.
According to him, the team budget during the era of previous governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok was earmarked from the governor’s operational funds, instead of a certain budget post.
During the meeting, he also demanded the evaluation of the team’s performance report. “I ask the city secretary for the team’s report,” Prasetio added.
He further questioned the tasks and functions of the team that consisted of 73 members. He recalled there were reports to the legislative body regarding the team’s authority that exceeded the regional working unit (SKPD), which lead to disruptions.
Jakarta Budgetary Board also decided to cut the number of members of Anies Baswedan’s team to 50 people from initially 68 members.
