TEMPO.CO, JakartaNational Police chief Gen. Idham Azis has reportedly tapped Insp. Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo as the head of the police's criminal investigation unit (Bareskrim), based on a circulating police telegram today, December 6. Listyo presently serves as the National Police's internal affairs division (Propam).

“Job reshuffle is common in the police institution as meritocracy, regeneration, tour of area and to optimize the organization’s performance,” said the police’s head of career development bureau, Brig. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo, via text message on Friday, December 6.

The position of Bareskrim head has been vacant since the appointment of Idham Azis to succeed Tito Karnavian, who was inaugurated Home Affairs Minister by President Jokowi.

Listyo graduated from the police academy in 1991. He served as as President Jokowi's adjutant in 2014 and was promoted to brigadier general two years later as the chief of the Banten Police.

In August 2018, he was promoted to inspector general by then police chief Gen. Tito Karnavian and named as the head of Police Propam as noted in the Police Chief's Decree No. 81/ 2014 A/III/KEP./2018 dated August 13, 2018.

Before serving as President Jokowi’s aide, in May 2013, Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who was born on May 5, 1969, was the director of the general crime unit of the Southeast Sulawesi Police.
