TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Erick Thohir warned that he will fire the Garuda Indonesia Director responsible for attempting to smuggle the undeclared Harley Davidson parts that were discovered a few days ago.
Erick even offered the person involved, if proven guilty, to resign on their own will before being discharged by the minister.
“If that is true, that person must be fired. But it is better if the person resigns before he is found out. We’ll do it like Japan’s samurai did in the past, but that is only if it is proven to be true,” said Erick in Jakarta’s Pacific Place today.
Despite the harsh warning, he maintains that the SOE Ministry will still uphold the presumption of innocence and has no official plans in place to discharge the Garuda Indonesia board of directors in question.
“But we’ll have to wait for the ongoing process. We’ll wait,” said Erick.
