TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Jokowi has officially signed the Government’s Decree (PP) No. 80/2019 overseeing trade activities via electronic system on November 20. This follows the requirement mentioned in Article 66 of Law No.7/2014 regarding trade.
“Trade activities through electronic systems (PMSE) is a type of trade that is done under a series of tools and electronic procedures,” as mentioned in Article 66.
As stated in the Government’s Decree, in practicing PMSE, each party must uphold good intentions, attentiveness, transparency, trustworthiness, accountability, balance, and fairness.
The government’s decree says PMSE maintains that it can be practiced by business owners, consumers, private parties, and state instances.
This decree states - in terms of exports and imports - that people practicing PMSE on goods or services that affect Indonesia’s national security vulnerabilities must obtain a security clearance from relevant state instances.
