TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Property Tycoon Dr. Ir Ciputra died on Wednesday morning, 27th of November 2019. The property entrepreneur passed away at the age of 88 years.
Ciputra died at 1:05 a.m. WIB (Western Indonesia Time). The remains of the property tycoon is planned to be taken to Jakarta, but it is uncertain when Ciputra, who was born in Parigi, Central Sulawesi, will be buried.
"We, the Ciputra Group family, express our deepest condolences and pray that the family left behind will be endowed with the strength and patience to face this grief. The funeral schedule will be notified further after the body arrives in Jakarta," said a statement Tempo received.
Ciputra who holds an engineering degree from the Bandung Institute of Technology left four children from his marriage to Dian Sumeler.
As a businessman, Ciputra was once considered as one of the richest people in Indonesia and also in the world. In March, Forbes magazine put the Ciputra family on the list of the 100 richest people in the world. The total wealth of the Ciputra family is estimated at 1.1 billion US dollars or around Rp 15.4 trillion.
