TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian National Police chief of communications bureau Brigadier General Raden Argo Yuwono said Condro Kirono will preserve his status as a police general commissioner even though he has been appointed as a commissioner in the state-owned energy firm Pertamina.
“He is not discharged but rather shifted his task,” said Argo at the National Police’s main headquarters on Tuesday, November 26.
Argo explained that such a decision is overseen by National Police Chief’s Decree No.4/2017 Article 1 (5). He then expressed appreciation for the government’s trust given to one of the police institution’s leaders.
“The police institution is surely proud due to the fact that a member is entrusted to assist the nation,” said Argo.
Previously, State-owned Enterprises (SOE) Minister Erick Thohir replaced Pertamina’s board of directors and commissioners. Another high-profile individual appointed as the firm’s commissioner is former Jakarta governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama.
