Police Nab 74 Terrorists Following Suicide Bombing in Medan

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian National Police announced the arrests of 74 suspected terrorists following the suicide bombing attempt at the Medan Police Headquarters.
Indonesian National Police Chief, General Idham Azis said that the major arrests are also police’s attempt to secure this year’s Christmas and New Year celebration.
“We arrested 74 people. Three of them were killed,” said Idham in the hearing with House of Representatives (DPR) law commission in the Senayan DPR-MPR headquarters on Wednesday.
The 74 arrests were spread across North Sumatra, West Java, Central Java, Pekanbaru, Banten, East Kalimantan, Jakarta, Aceh, East Java, and South Sulawesi.
“Based on our investigations, the suspects are all linked to the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) group that is closely affiliated with ISIS,” said Idham.
