TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) planned to examine the House of Representatives (DPR) Secretary-General Indra Iskandar in the bribery case of garlic imports. Indra will be grilled as a witness for the suspect I Nyoman Dhamantra who is a House member.
“[Indra] will be questioned as a witness for IYD (Nyoman),” said the commission's spokesman Febri Diansyah, Friday, November 15.
The anti-graft body repeatedly called in Indra every time a House member was incriminated a corruption case, for example, during the legal process of the graft case of fertilizer distribution involving Bowo Sidik Pangarso. At that time, the commission questioned Indra and seized dozens of documents related to the House’s meetings.
KPK suspected Nyoman of receiving a bribe of Rp2 billion from PT Cahaya Sakti Agro director Chandry Suanda alias Afung to grant import quota permit from Trade Ministry. Afung was assisted by PT Sampico Adhi Abattoir Director Dody Wahyudi and a private party Zulfikar.
Previously, Nyoman submitted a pretrial lawsuit related to the suspect naming, yet rejected by South Jakarta Court District.
