TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Transportation Ministry's Director General of Railways, Zulfikri, said that the Jakarta-Bandung fast train project is progressing well. According to Sulfikri, the physical construction progress is at 34 to 36 percent.
As for land acquisition, it is almost completed at 99.06 percent.
Based on a meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs, Zulfikri said, the government focuses on helping PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) complete the land acquisition process so that the trains can start operations as scheduled.
"We want it done by July 2021. We help a lot in terms of technical issues and facilities," Zulfikri said after the meeting on November 12.
The Jakarta-Bandung fast train project is targeted for completion in 2021. The project was met with a number of problems during construction, including the fire of Pertamina's pipeline near the Purbaleunyi toll road, Cimahi, allegedly due to the drilling activities conducted by KCIC.
