  • TEMPO.CO, JakartaDefense Minister Prabowo Subianto said that he and Deputy Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono were still studying issues related to the country’s defense. After that, he added, the plan would be designated.

“We are identifying problems, studying to collect information, data, and then [we will] formulate plans,” said Prabowo before attending the meeting with the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission I at Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, November 11.

Prabowo and Trenggono along with several officials of the Defense Ministry held a meeting with the House Commission I. He claimed he had not detailed topics he would deliver during the session.

However, the former general commander of the military (TNI) special forces eyed adequate defense in the country. He underlined that Indonesia is a wealthy country and rich in natural resources that were always sought by other nations.

“We want peace, we do not want to bother others. But we have to be strong to protect ourselves. I think that is the mindset,” said the Gerindra party chief patron.

Prabowo Subianto arrived at the Parliament Complex, at 10:39 a.m. He was welcomed by several party elites, including Gerindra sec-gen Ahmad Muzani, deputy head Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and Sugiono, supervisory board member Habiburokhman, and others.

The meeting scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m. was started at 11:20 a.m., leading by the House Commission I head Meutya Hafid.
