TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe ad hoc team established by Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has commenced its investigation into the head of the West Jakarta Education Agency's Administration Unit related to the glue budget worth Rp82 billion in Jakarta's draft 2020 budget (RAPBD).

Jakarta Employment Agency (BKD) head Chaidir balked at revealing the examination result as the investigation was still afoot.

“Someone has been summoned, officials of the  West Jakarta agency who input data on Aibon glue,” said Chaidir at the City Hall, Central Jakarta, Friday, November 8.

Chaidir, who explained that his side would send for more city officials over the budget fiasco, refused to comment about the probe results.

Earlier, Anies Baswedan asserted he would summon a number of city employees who uploaded several odd budgets onto the 2020 RAPBD. He was also determined to impose penalties on every civil servant who worked carelessly.

The polemic on glue budget was initially brought up by Jakarta councilor from the PSI faction, William Aditya Sarana, through his Twitter account. Apart from the glue budget, many oddities were found, including pen procurement amounting to Rp123 billion by the  East Jakarta Education Agency.

More oddities have been found in the city’s draft budget during a discussion between the Jakarta administration and the Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD). Earlier, a councilor from the PDIP faction, Ima Mahdiah, discovered another 27 odd budget items worth Rp2.5 trillion proposed by the Jakarta Education Agency.
