TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Attorney General ST Burhanuddin visited the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) building in Kuningan, South Jakarta this morning, November 8. He did not say much to reporters when asked what he was doing there.
The Attorney General's purpose to visit the KPK is still unknown. But a number of newly-appointed state officials had done the same recently.
Social Affairs Minister Juliari Batubara visited the KPK on November 4, after meeting with KPK leaders, Juliari said he wanted to establish cooperation with the anti-graft body.
On the same day, Police Chief Gen. Idham Azis also visited the KPK, stating he wants to create synergy with the commission.
ST Burhanuddin became the third state official who came to the KPK building after being sworn-in. He was appointed as attorney general by Jokowi on October 23. Burhanuddin's appointment had received protests from a number of parties because he is the younger brother of PDIP politician, TB Hasanuddin.
Burhanuddin promised he will not play into politics.
"I have no politics, I will not bring the prosecutor's office to politics," he had said on Thursday, November 7.
