TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State power company PLN said that it has built electric cars' charging stations or SPKLU in 10 areas across Indonesia. PLN executive vice president for corporate communication and CSR, I Made Suprateka, said the SPKLU are already in operations.
"But in some areas like Bali or Medan, the operations are not optimal yet since there are not many electric cars there," he said in Jakarta, November 5.
I Made asserted that PLN will continue to provide more charging stations as part of its commitment to support the national electrification rate.
"Right now we focus on urging the public [to use electric cars] as we have the facilities ready," he said.
The cost to build one unit of public charging station is between Rp800 million to Rp1 billion.
