TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police stated that they did not set a deadline for the investigation of the attack on Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator Novel Baswedan. The police's sole agenda is to solve the case immediately.
"We have no deadline. Our will, and the technical team's, is to solve it as soon as possible," The National Police HQ's PR chief Insp. Gen, Mohammad Iqbal said in Jakarta, Senin, 4 November.
When asked how soon the target is, Iqbal only said "as soon as possible."
President Joko Widodo had given a one-month deadline to police chief Gen. Idham Azis to solve Novel Baswedan's assault case.
"I told the new National Police Chief that he has until the beginning of December," Jokowi said during a dialogue with the state palace press in Jakarta Friday, November 1.
Novel Baswedan's attack case's technical team was formed in early August; involving 120 police personnel. The team was given three months until the end of October to arrest the men who threw acid at Novel's face.
To date, the police have not revealed the team's findings.
