Ovo to Charge Extra Fee for Bank Transfers from December 12

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Digital wallet platform Ovo announced earlier this month that it will start to charge an extra Rp2,500 transfer fee from December 12 onwards for balance transfers from Ovo Premier holders to any bank accounts.
Based on the announcement, only Ovo Cash balances can be transferred to bank accounts with a minimum transfer of Rp10,000 per transaction.
Prior to this announcement, wiring money from the digital wallet to banks are not charged extra fees in its first ten transfers each month. An extra Rp3,000 fee is only imposed after the tenth transfer within the same month.
Many have responded to Ovo’s announcement with mixed responses that were voiced via social media. Some users expressed anguish and assert that the current free bank charge policy helped them save money.
