Novel Baswedan: Solve My Case for the Sake of Civilization

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) senior investigator Novel Baswedan commented on the National Police's claiming there had been significant improvement in their investigation into his acid attack.
Novel said improvement was not something that was called for at the moment, but rather the immediate capture of the perpetrators so as to avert similar attacks from recurring.
“It has run for nearly over two years, how are we still talking about developments, which are no longer important. What’s important is whether the suspects have been captured or not?” said Novel Baswedan to Tempo on Friday.
Previously, National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Muhammad Iqbal claimed to have uncovered important findings following a three-month investigation by the police's technical team into Novel's case.
“There are several significant things the technical team has found,” said Iqbal at the Senayan Parliamentary Complex on Thursday.
“This is for the interest of human rights and civilization as a whole. If attacks like that are not solved, or if I stand still and do nothing, I somehow feel like I am contributing to those who commit similar acts against others,” said Novel Baswedan.
