TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Council (DPRD) Commission E, together with the Education Agency has finally dropped the Rp82 billion budget procurement for Aibon-branded glue from the city’s 2020 Budget Draft.
“Yes, we changed it back to zero because the aibon glue narrative that is used no longer exists,” said Commission E Head, Imam Satria, at the Jakarta Council on Thursday, October 30.
Imam explained that the Education Agency will replace the empty slot with relevant activities that are pitched by schools. He also called for the city’s agencies to be extra careful in designing a budget plan to prevent another e-budgeting fiasco.
“We ask agencies to be more careful, there must not be similar cases in the future,” said Imam.
A similar warning was expressed by the Education Agency acting-head, Saefuloh Hidayat, who maintained that requests for the glue procurement had never come up from any school. He also announced that the agency has filed a revised 2020 Jakarta budget draft and has included procurement for stationery up to Rp22 billion.
