TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy for Institutional Affairs of the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN RB) Rini Widyantini said the appointment of special staffers to a ministry must be proposed to President Joko Widodo or Jokowi.
"The special employee who will assist the ministers are no longer assigned directly by relevant ministers but must be proposed first or requires approval from the president," said Rini in her office, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 30.
Rini explained that the quota of special staffers to a minister was set at five, and that could be adjusted to the needs of each ministry.
However, based on Presidential Regulation No. 67/2019 on the arrangement of tasks and functions of State Ministries of the 2019-2024 Indonesian Cabinet, a minister or an institution head could submit a proposal for the quota of special staff to the President, which is addressed through the Minister of State Secretary.
According to Rini, the proposal on special staffers approved by President Jokowi would be issued in the presidential decree. "So this is a significant change in the arrangements for special staffers," she said.
