TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta City Transportation Agency proposed a budget reaching Rp150 billion for the construction of the electronic road pricing (ERP) scheme in the draft regional budget 2020.
“For ERP construction, the budget is at Rp150 billion,” said the agency head Syafrin Liputo at Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD), Monday, October 28.
Syafrin explained that the road pricing scheme was targeted to take effect in the fourth quarter of 2020 at a number of capital’s streets.
The agency initially planned to implement the scheme at 25 roads that were affected by the odd-even policy. “For the time being, we have set corridors with the odd-even policy,” Syafrin said on October 21.
He added that his agency was reviewing the project, including on the legal opinion of the Attorney General's Office that new studies must be conducted from the beginning.
The program would be implemented with a retribution scheme under Government Regulation No. 97/2012 on Traffic Control Retribution and License Renewal Levies for Employing Foreign Workers.
Jakarta Transportation Agency would also draft regulations for the implementation of the program, including the tariff. Syafrin also said that his side would again propose the draft of Regional Regulation (Perda) on ERP to be included in the next year’s regional priority program.
