TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry is set to be filled with a young face, as President Jokowi appointed a 32-year old Perindo politician Angela Tanoesoedibjo to be the ministry’s deputy minister.
“As of today, Pak Jokowi entrusted me to serve the tourism and creative economy sector,” said Angela not long after she was summoned by the president at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta today, Oct. 25.
The daughter of Indonesian tycoon Hary Tanoesoedibjo said that the president had tasked the ministry to continue the development of Indonesia’s 10 new tourist attractions.
Despite her relatively young age, Angela believes she can handle the task in-hand, “I have a background in media management and other sectors such as retail, finance, and can work creatively, swiftly, efficiently, and high impactful [contribution].”
According to her, President Jokowi is eyeing to establish five tourist attractions, and its ecosystem, within the next year.
