TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has officially appointed the Indonesian Ambassador to the United States, Mahendra Siregar, as the upcoming deputy of Foreign Affairs Ministry.
“I will be positioned as the Deputy Minister,” said Mahendra in the Presidential Palace complex today, Oct. 25.
He will be sided with Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, as she has been reappointed as Foreign Affairs Minister in Jokowi’s second-term Cabinet.
The president has also tasked his former campaign team treasurer, Wahyu Sakti Trenggano, as the deputy minister of defense who will be paired with Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto.
“I am tasked to assist the Defense Minister in the defense industry sector as deputy minister,” said Wahyu Sakti.
Meanwhile, the deputy of the religious affairs minister will be handed to PPP politician Zainut Tauhid.
