TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin expressed hope for President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo to appoint young and creative figures as the Cabinet’s state ministers.
“I think the people that will be chosen will be placed according to their expertise. But I hope that the priority will go to young, creative, and innovative figures because innovative work performance is needed,” said Ma’ruf Amin in his inaugural work visit as VP to Tokyo, Japan, on Tuesday.
He asserts support for President Jokowi’s criteria in determining a state official, either from political parties or professionals. Ma’ruf Amin also assessed that the upcoming State Ministers must be able to perform well and adhere to the President’s mandates by delivering their work program.
“It needs people who can execute; not just to work but also to execute [tasks],” said the Vice President.
