TEMPO.CO, JakartaAfter meeting President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s invitation to the Palace this afternoon, Oct. 21, Gerindra Party chair Prabowo Subianto said he was asked to help cement Jokowi’s cabinet.

Prabowo specifically said he was asked to help in the defense sector. “He [Jokowi] allowed me to announce [that I will] help in the defense sector,” said Prabowo at the State Palace, Monday, October 21.

Commenting on the possible duty, the former commander of the Army's Special Forces (Kopassus) said he had received directions from the President. “He had given directions, so I will work as hard as I can to achieve the designated goals and expectations,” he remarked.

This afternoon, Prabowo and his party’s deputy, Edhy Prabowo, visited the State Palace. Both reportedly will fill in the positions of defense minister and agriculture minister, respectively.

“As for Edhy Prabowo’s position, he [Jokowi] will announce it later,” said Prabowo Subianto.
