TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police spokesman Brig. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo stated that terrorist group Jamaah Ansharut Daulah or JAD led by Abu Zee was ready to launch terror acts in Solo and Yogyakarta.
“Based on the examination result by Densus 88, [a member] was being groomed to become a suicide bomber to commit acts of terror in Solo and Yogyakarta,” said Dedi in Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Tuesday, October 15.
Dedi explained the group of Abu Zee had a link to the JAD Jambi branch led by "R" alias Putra, whom he considered a high leader as R acknowledged all terror plans or amaliyah of all JAD branch groups.
“[R alias Putra] knows amaliyah plans from the JAD Bekasi, Bandung, Cirebon, Central Java, East Java, Yogyakarta, Lampung, Southeast Sulawesi, and North Sulawesi,” Dedi said.
Moreover, the Abu Zee network was active on social media and had planned to commit terror acts in Jakarta with a home assembled-explosive made of triacetone triperoxide (TATP).
“Abu Zee’s communication structure on social media is quite active, his eight members planned to launch a series of terror attacks using assembled TATP bombs,” Dedi concluded.
